  1. The League's Annual Meeting will be held on December 16 at Tower Auditorium in Portsmouth. The meeting will start promptly at 2:30 and will last for approximately one hour. It is imperative that you are present at this meeting.

  2. If you are a certified official, ensure that your resume - a listing of all the meets that you worked last year - is current. Different meets are trying to compensate officials who worked several meets last year. However, you must be a certified official to even be considered.

  3. Here is a listing of all the ACTL league certified officials along with their team affiliation. This list is based solely on the certification that was done at the officials clinic in Portsmouth. If you need to update this list, please contact the League Office. We are in the process of establishing our own certified pool of officials:

    Kermit Foster, League President
    Dwight Porter, VA Youth Chair
    Janice Washington, VB Pathfinders
    Butch Caldwell, VBP

  4. Reminder - The 2001 USATF Cross Country Association USATF Jr. Olympics Meet will be held next Sunday, November 11 at 11:00 at Newport News Park. You should have received an entry form with general information by now. If you have not, please contact the League Office immediately.

  5. If you or anyone would like to help with the Cross Country Meet, contact the League Office. We need course marshals and recorders. Your services would be needed from 10:00am to 1:00pm (3 hours) on that date.

  6. If you have any concerns that you would like to address to the USATF National Office, please contact Dwight Porter @ (757) 875-1778. He will be attending the National Convention as a delegate for Youth Athletics and he can address your concerns before the Youth Committee.

  7. The 2002 season will be here soon. Now is the time to raise money for your team. For fund raising ideas, contact the league office.

  8. Congratulations to our coaches who are currently coaching football, cross country or middle school track. Keep up the Good Work!
