  1. In an effort to help offset the cost of getting to the National Championships, financial assistance will be made available to the teams in the league. To date, a total of $5,000 has been set aside to help with the expenses. If we make a profit on our June 29th meet, the amount will increase.

  2. Here's how the money will be distributed:
    The top two finishers in individual events will qualify for funding.
    Example # 1 - If the league teams have a total of 40 athletes to finish in the top Two at the regional competition, then the 40 athletes will divide the $5,000 (each earning $125 for their club). If the Suffolk Stars have 10 qualifiers, they will receive $1,250 towards the expenses for the National Championships. Example # 2 - If the league teams have 50 athletes finish in the top two, then the 50 athletes will divide the $5,000 (each member earning $100 for their club). If the Hampton Blazers have 15 qualifiers, they will get $1500.

  3. The money will be distributed immediately after the regional competition results are received. Please contact the League Office if you have any questions or suggestions.

  4. The Cannonball Cooper Age Group Championship has been changed to June 15, and will be held at Virginia State University in Petersburg, VA. Contact Robert Evans @ 703-929-5193 for more info.

  5. Our meet is fast approaching - June 29 - and each team needs to provide the League Office w/ five volunteers to help with the meet. We need these names before June 15. If any of these volunteers are USATF certified officials, they will be compensated.

  6. We are asking that each team help promote our meet by giving out flyers (enclosed), and spreading by "word of mouth" at the different meets you attend. If you need additional flyers or entry forms, contact the league office.

  7. Again, Remember to keep accurate records of your team performances because at the end of the summer, we will compile League records.
