  1. Our meet will now be held at Darling Stadium in Hampton, Virginia. The date is still July 5. Please make a note of this venue change and spread the word to other teams. Another meet booklet noting the change will be mailed shortly.

  2. The running events will use a rolling schedule, instead of a time schedule for the events. The first running event - 3000m will start @ 9:00 and each event will proceed in the order listed. This change will also be noted in the booklet.

  3. The Henrico Pacers Invitational meet has been changed to May 24. The meet is still @ Virginia State University in Petersburg. The meet that was originally scheduled for that date was cancelled. Call Al Collins @ 804-226-2751 if you have any questions about the meet.

  4. The season is off to a good start w/ two of the League Teams (Del-5 and Norfolk Real Deal) hosting 2 of the first three meets. Each meet had over 500 participants. Another League Team, GRYAA Comets will host a meet on June 14 @ Virginia Sate University in Petersburg. Call Robert Evans @ 804-353-3458 if you have any questions about the Comets meet.

  5. The State AAU qualifying meet (June 7 & 8 in Hampton) entry deadline is May 29. Also the State USATF qualifying meet (June 21 & 22 in Newport News) entry deadline is June 15.

  6. Funding to the entire league for either the AAU or USATF Jr. Olympics will be a minimum of $7,500. This represents a $2,000 increase from last year. Distribution will be the same as last year's based on the total number of League qualifers, then pro-rated to each team. Example: The League has a total of 75 qualifiers (7500 divided by 75 = $100 per qualifier) Suffolk Stars has 13 qualifiers and therefore they would receive $1,300 (13 x $100) to help offset their expenses. More information will be available at a later date.
