Congratulations to all of you for having another successful summer track season. The League had several National Champions and numerous place winners (Top 8) at both the AAU and USATF Jr. Olympics. However, what really made this summer great was the time spent by the coaches and parents helping our Youth. Thanks to you, our Youth was able to have fun while participating in a sport that helps keep them fit.
Please complete the enclosed season summary form and return it to the League Office before October 5.
Also enclosed is a form (make copies) so that we can establish our League records. This form also needs to be returned before October 5. Please print and ensure to put the meet and year where your club record was set. An example is included on the form. The records will be complied based on what you turn in.
The Virginia Association USATF Annual Meeting will be held on Sunday, September 7, 2003 at 2:00pm at the Midtown Inn, 3200 West Broad Street, Richmond, VA. Remember this is your opportunity to make a difference for our Association
No date has been set for the AAU Annual meeting, but you will be notified ASAP when it is scheduled.
Coaches must be members of USATF or AAU in order to get coaching credentials at the respective Nationals. Several coaches were not aware of this until they went to Nationals. USATF membership is based on a calendar year, while AAU membership year runs from September 1 thru August 31.
