  1. Please complete your team summary form. Only 2 teams have sent their forms to the Office. These forms were due in September, and we need them ASAP so that we can close out the season. Another form is enclosed for your convenience.

  2. We will have League Meeting on Sunday, December 12 at 2:00pm at Tower Auditorium in Portsmouth. This meeting is mandatory for all teams, and will last for approximately 2 hours. Please mark your calendar.

  3. Legislation that went into effect in July allows any nonprofit organization (that is exempt from federal income taxes and meets other criteria including 501 c 3) to be exempt from paying any state sales taxes on purchases. You must register your organization with the Virginia Department of Taxation. For more info, go to www.tax.state.va.us/nonprofit

  4. The USATF Association Cross Country Championship will be held on Sunday, November 14 @ Pole Green Park in Mechanicsville, Virginia. Contact Dwight Porter @ (757) 875-1778 for more info.

  5. The AAU Association Cross Country Championship will be held on Saturday, November 7 @ Sportsplex in Virginia Beach. Contact Evie Foster @ (757) 431-1169 for more info.

  6. The Virginia Association has a new website - www.virginia.usatf.org

  7. The Officials certification will be held in January @ Norfolk State University. All officials must be recertified, and more information will be available in the next newsletter.

  8. The 2005 USATF Virginia Annual Meeting will be held on Sunday, February 13 @ the Comfort Inn - Midtown in Richmond. All elections (Executive / Sports Committee) will be held on this day. You must be a current member to run for a position, and to vote on a nominee.
