- Our Annual Meeting was held on December 11, and here are the minutes:
- The meeting started @ 2:14 w/ the following people present - Kermit Foster (League President), Walt Green (Administrator / NRD), Dwight Porter (Youth Chair), Joel Coleman (NRD), Allen Overton (FS), Les Young (LTC), William Ricks (Sussex), Mychelle Coleman (NRD), Carol Dolberry (ACC / NRD), Vincent Pugh (Suffolk), Patryce Copeland (HB), Francene Jones (HB), Markus Lanier (HB), Greg Rountree (Suffolk), Louis Moon (ACC) & Robert Evans (RC).
- Kermit informed the group that
- League Funding will remain the same w/ the first installment mailed in January
- Educational Funding will not be available this year, but it should return in 2007
- Since the AAU Junior Olympics will be held in Norfolk, there will not be any additional funding. However, if you have anyone that qualifies for the USATF J.O., contact Kermit.
- Each team should consider having their own meet. This will help each team raise additional funds.
- The 2006 ACTL Inv. Will be held @ Darling Stadium on June 24.
- The League will be purchasing a "Finish Lynx" for teams to use at their meets. Training for operators will be held in February. More information will be available in January.
- League Summary reports need to be turned in ASAP.
- Walt summarized the 2005 season, and also emphasized that he needs teams to send in their 2005 summary ASAP. Also, he gave a tentative schedule for 2006. Finally, anyone who is interested in attending the USATF Coaching Education Level I School (January 6-8 @ UNC , Chapel Hill) should contact Andrew Allden ASAP @ 919-962-5195. - Dwight informed the group that coaches' background checks will be mandatory in 2007. Also, World Youth teams has changed the ages for females (now 14-19) and males (now 15-19).
- Kermit summarized everything that was discussed, and the meeting was adjourned @ 2:39
