Welcome to our annual event. On behalf of the Atlantic Coast Track League we thank you for helping us celebrate a decade of dedication to our youth through the Atlantic Coast Invitational Track Meet. Our mission is being accomplished because of the commitment of our league administrators along with the participants.

Our 2008 event is being dedicated to our league administrators. Those administrators consist of our league commissioner, meet director, and the original member teams of the league (VA Beach Pathfinders, Suffolk Stars, Surry Pioneers, Sussex Central, Norfolk Real Deal, Freedom Striders). The impact of these teams and the other youth teams in the area is evident when we look at the results of our Virginia high school championships. The eastern region always has its share of state champions, many of whom are products of the league and other teams in the local community.

Once again we will be offering trophies to the top three teams as well as outstanding male and female athlete awards. I am constantly encouraged by the growing numbers of the participants, especially at a time when the overall fitness of our youth is declining.

We are grateful to the City of Suffolk for their assistance in helping us host our event. We appreciate your hospitality and generosity.
